ORANGE COUNTY <br />ORANGE UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION BOARD (OUTBoard) <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date:April 16, 2014 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No.4b <br />SUBJECT:Review of selected private road and access standards from the Unified <br />Development Ordinance (UDO) Section 7.8 Access and Roadways <br />DEPARTMENT:Planning and Inspections PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N)N <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />1.Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) <br />Goals <br />2.Orange County 2030 Comprehensive Plan <br />Transportation Goals <br />3.Section7.8 Access and Roadways, <br />Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Abigaile Pittman, Transportation/Land Use <br />Planner, 245-2567 <br />Tom Altieri, Comprehensive Planning <br />Supervisor, 245-2579 <br />Michael Harvey, Current Planning <br />Supervisor, 245-2597 <br />Craig Benedict, Planning Director, 245-2592 <br />PURPOSE:To review selected private road and access standards from Section 7.8 of the <br />UDO and recommend to the BOCC that Planning staff review/revise. <br />BACKGROUND: In its approved 2014 WorkPlan, the following activitywas identified for the <br />OUTBoard: <br />Begin examination of UDO Section 7.8 Access and Roadways with respect to the goals <br />and objectives of the Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan to determine <br />consistency, and seek BOCC authorization to develop recommendations of applicable <br />amendments to the UDO to take to the Planning Board. <br />This Work Plan activity relates to the following adopted goals and objectives: <br />x BOCC Goal 3, Priority 2: Implement Comprehensive Plan (a) Rewrite zoning and <br />subdivision regulations (Unified Development Ordinance); <br />x 2030 Comprehensive Plan Transportation Goal 2, Objective T-2.3:Increase countywide <br />access for emergency vehicles, including ways to improve response times, both for <br />existing and newdevelopments; and <br />x 2030 Comprehensive Plan Services and Community Facilities Goal 7, Objective PS-T-3 <br />Establish and maintain an appropriate level of service for law enforcement and <br />emergency services and ensure the provision of adequate public safety protection <br />standards for residential, commercial, and industrial development throughout the County. <br />11 <br />ReturntoAgenda
