INTRODUCTIONS <br />Present: Earl McKee, Orange County Commissioner’s Chair; Bernadette Pelissier, <br />Orange County Commissioner’s Vice-Chair; Chuck Edwards, NCDOT District 7 <br />Engineer; Mike Mills, NCDOT Division Engineer; Pat Wilson, NCDOT Division 7 <br />Operations Engineer; John Howell, NCDOT Highway Maintenance Engineer; Bonnie <br />Hammersley, Orange County Manager; Travis Myren, Orange County Assistant <br />Manager; Tom Altieri, Orange County Comprehensive Planning Supervisor; Abigaile <br />Pittman, Orange County Land Use/Transportation Planner; Margaret Hauth, Town of <br />Hillsborough Planning Director; Eric Hallman, Town of Hillsborough Commissioner; <br />and Jen Weaver, Town of Hillsborough Commissioner. <br />Chair McKee welcomed all and introductions were made by everyone present. <br />II.DISCUSSIONS/UPDATES <br />a)TIP project updates (Chuck Edwards, NCDOT District 7 Engineer) <br />Updates were provided on the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />(NCDOT) Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) Division 7 projects located <br />within Orange County. <br />Rail Crossing Closures: <br />x Efland area/Ben Lloyd’s property – completed this past summer. New <br />access provided to the I-40/85 access road. <br />x Gordon Thomas Drive (private road) – estimated completion date 12-2016. <br />x Greenbriar Drive (private road) – estimated completion date 12-2016. <br />x Byrdsville Road (private road) – estimated completion date late summer, <br />early fall, 2017. <br />Resurfacing and Assorted Safety Improvements: <br />x Four-way stop installation at intersection of SR 1005 (Old Greensboro <br />Road) at White Cross Road – Flasher work, roadway construction and <br />utility relocation; completed Fall, 2015. <br />x Radius and sight distance improvements at the intersection of Pleasant <br />Green Road and Cole Mill Road – utility coordination, septic evaluations, <br />and right-of-way; estimated completion Spring 2016. <br />x Intersection improvements which include sidewalks, traffic signal, median <br />construction with bike lanes, and grading and paving on Jones Ferry Road <br />at Davie Street (in Carrboro) – estimated completion Spring 2016. <br />,WHPD$WWDFKPHQW <br />40
