A public hearing for the draft ADA plan is required by federal law. <br />The public hearing for OPT’s draft plan is scheduled to occurbefore the OUTBoard at its <br />February 18, 2015, meeting in advance of the OUTBoard’s consideration ofrecommendation of <br />approval of the plan to the Board of County Commissioners(BOCC). <br />NEXT STEPS:Following the public hearing and the OUTBoard’sreviewand consideration of <br />approval of the draft ADA plan, the 30-day public comment period will close on March 5, 2015, <br />and the plan will then be considered for adoption by the BOCC. The ADA plan will thenbe <br />forwardedfor review and approvalto agenciesthat requirethe plan for grant eligibility, such as <br />NCDOT and the Federal Transit Administration. Once approved by those agencies, the plan will <br />be published as OPT’s official ADA plan and implemented accordingly before expansion <br />services begin this spring. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS:The Staffrecommends the OUTBoard: <br />1.Open the public hearing for the draft ADA plan; <br />2.Close the public hearing for the draft ADA plan; and <br />3.Recommend approval of the draft ADA plan to the BOCC. <br />8 <br />ReturntoAgenda
