3. Develop an implementation report and present it to the OUTBoard for review and <br />recommendation, and review, approval and funding commitment by the BOCC. <br />With the Task Force appointments scheduled to be made at the June 21st BOCC meeting, plans for <br />the implementation of the Charge need to be underway. A discussion of the Charge and ideas on <br />Task Force meeting structure and objectives would be appropriate for the Board to undertake at this <br />time, to be carried forward to the Task Force by the OUTBoard liaisons. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Other than staff time, there is no immediate financial impact associated with <br />this item. <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to this <br />agenda item: <br />x GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br />The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, gang <br />activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br />Efforts to implement the recommendations of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Report through the <br />Bicycle Safety Task Force will result in positive outcomes related to the above Goal. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S):The staff recommends that the OUTBoard: <br />1. Review and make a recommendation on revisions to the slate of Bicycle Safety Task Force <br />applicants (Attachment 1), and forward to the BOCC; <br />2. Review and make and make a recommendation on the proposed amended Task Force <br />Resolution (Attachment 2), and forward to the BOCC; <br />3. Receive and discuss information on the Orange County Bicycle Crash Report 2007-2013 <br />(Attachment 3); and <br />4. Discuss the Task Force Charge as set forth in the Resolution and the Bicycle Crash Report <br />and offer ideas on meeting structure and objectives. <br />12
