Locally-Accessible, <br />Community-Based <br />Transportation <br />Transit RoutesTransit Routes <br />ORANGE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION (OPT) <br />Currently, OPT operates two (2) general public fixed routes. One route is the <br />Hillsborough Circulator, which serves major origins and destinations in <br />Hillsborough with hourly headways during <br />the hours 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday <br />through Friday. This route is operat- <br />ed using one (1) wheelchair accessi- <br />ble vehicle (with an electric wheel- <br />chair lift) that is 100% accessible to <br />and usable by persons with disabili- <br />ties. No fare is collected for riding the <br />Hillsborough Circulator service. <br />The other <br />route is the Or- <br />ange-Chapel Hill <br />Midday Connect- <br />or service, which <br />connects major <br />origins and desti- <br />nations in Hills- <br />borough, Chapel <br />Hill, and Cedar <br />Grove (northern <br />Orange County) <br />with hourly service <br />provided in both the northbound (Chapel Hill-Hillsborough-Cedar <br />Grove) and southbound (Cedar Grove-Hillsborough-Chapel Hill) direc- <br />tions Monday - Friday, 9:45am - 3:50pm. The current fare for the Or- <br />ange-Chapel Hill Midday Connector is $2 for the general public, $1 for <br />passengers between the ages of 6-17, and fare free to passengers <br />aged 5 or younger and 60 years of age or older, passengers with disa- <br />bilities, passengers with a Medicaid or Medicare card, and transfers to <br />or from GoTriangle Routes (ODX and 420).
