10/12/2016Job Bulletin <br />http://agency.governmentjobs.com/orangecountync/job_bulletin.cfm?JobID=1551697 <br />customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer <br />satisfaction. <br />Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, <br />compensation and benefits and general labor relations. <br />Knowledge of public finance and budgeting principles and practices. <br />Knowledge of safety and ADA regulations and procedures. <br />Knowledge of modern office equipment and common word processing, spreadsheet, and <br />database software as well as GIS software. <br />Ability to: <br />Ability to effectively manage the Orange Public Transportation Department activities and <br />programs to achieve County goals and objectives for public transportation service. <br />Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to <br />improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the department. <br />Ability to interpret and analyze technical and statistical information and to present technical oral <br />and written reports. <br />Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms. <br />Skill in planning and prioritizing work. <br />Ability to communicate effectively and delegate responsibilities efficiently. <br />Ability to drive a vehicle and navigate routes to properties being considered for or under <br />development. <br />Proven ability to successfully implement transit expansion plans. <br />Ability to think creatively and pursue creative approaches to implementing services and <br />obtaining funding. <br />Education and Experience <br />Bachelor's Degree in public or business administration, or a related field of study with a <br />minimum of five years of management experience in public or private transit systems, including <br />experience in transit operations and planning. <br />Licenses and Certifications <br />Valid North Carolina Driver License. <br />SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />Physical Requirements <br />Must be able to physically perform operational support functions of typing, talking, sitting, <br />grasping, hearing, reaching and repetitive motions of the hands/wrists/feet. <br />Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a <br />negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move <br />objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. <br />Must possess the visual acuity to operate a passenger vehicle, prepare and analyze data and <br />figures, perform accounting, work on a computer terminal and perform extensive reading. <br />Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. <br />19
