A link to the Report <br />is provided above (Attachment 1). <br />The OUTBoard is authorized to form a subcommittee to research and make special <br />recommendations on special issues or areas in order to carry out the duties of the <br />OUTBoard, including implementation of the Bicycle Safety Task Force Report. At its June <br />21 meeting the OUTBoard discussed and unanimously supported the formation of a <br />subcommittee to launch the campaign, and begin implementation of FY 2017-2018 <br />recommendations items from the Report. Since the June meeting, staff has confirmed the <br />first year budget of $15,000 ($10,000 from the General Fund and $5,000 from the Visitors <br />Bureau Occupancy Tax); and has met with County staff from the Community Relations <br />Department and the Visitors Bureau to obtain information regarding staff support available <br />to move the bicycle safety campaign forward. <br />For the OUTBoard’s review, Planning staff has prepared a summary for the BSTF <br />Implementation Subcommittee structure per Section VIII of the County’s Advisory Board <br />Policy, the budget, parties that would be involved, and actions recommended by the BSTF <br />Report for FY 2017-2018. Following a review of this summary, the OUTBoard can take <br />action for form the subcommittee and appointment its members. The meeting schedule and <br />place can be addressed by the members of the subcommittee in consultation with staff. <br />21
