Proposed Logo Theo Letman, Transit Director, <br />919-245-2007 <br />PURPOSE: To receive an update on marketing and rebranding effort undertaken to establish <br />Orange County Public Transportation’s identity as a new department within Orange County <br />government and to increase awareness of our services throughout the County. <br />BACKGROUND: Orange County Public Transportation (OCPT) or “OPT” has become its own <br />Department and in need of an identity. We enlisted the assistance of Todd McGee and his <br />team at Orange County Community Relations to create a logo and revamp our schedules and <br />brochures. We are getting new logos on the fleet of buses, and bus stop signs, and hope to <br />also have a revamped website soon. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Budgeted expense <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br />applicable to this agenda item because public transportation provides opportunity for <br />access to jobs and services to many individuals. <br />GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION AND <br />INEQUITY <br />The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br />color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br />origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br />or economic status. <br />GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br />The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br />necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br />themselves and their dependents <br />This effort is intended to bring awareness to the public of the transportation services <br />available to our county residents. <br />15
