Resident Requests for Review <br /> <br /> Speed limit Posting and Striping on Tinnin Road in Efland (Abigaile <br />Pittman) <br />A resident complaint was reported to Commissioner Price. Tinnin <br />Road is in Efland, Cheeks Township; and it intersects with US 70 to <br />south and School House Road to north. It is a narrow road with no <br />center striping. Abigaile Pittman stated that the road has <br />approximately 15 feet of pavement in 50 feet of right-of-way. The <br />resident also requested that speed limit sign(s) be installed. Dawn <br />McPherson stated that NCDOT had also received a resident <br />complaint and had already installed a speed limit sign on Tinnin <br />Road at the intersecting street. They will review and evaluate if <br />another should be installed from the other direction. NCDOT stated <br />that the road was too narrow for striping. Commissioner Rich <br />concurred. NCDOT stated that they would follow up with Abigaile. <br /> Poor Visibility at I-85 and Mt Willing Road Interchange Exit <br />(Abigaile Pittman) <br /> <br />A resident complaint was reported to Commissioner Price regarding <br />visibility problems exiting the east-bound ramp and turning north <br />onto Mt. Willing Road. The problem is attributed to a hill on Mt. <br />Willing Road to the south. Abigaile Pittman stated that she visited <br />the site and did not note any other contributing factors such as <br />landscaping that interfered with sight distance, or insufficient <br />lighting. Craig Benedict stated that there is a lot of traffic coming <br />from the four-way stop at the top of the hill at Mt. Willing Road and <br />West Ten Road. NCDOT stated that they will look into the matter, <br />and that perhaps additional signage would be appropriate. <br /> <br />III. PENDING PROJECTS <br /> <br />a) STIP, Small Construction and Spot Safety Project Updates (Chuck Edwards, <br />NCDOT) <br /> <br />STIP Under Construction - U-5550, Intersection Improvements U.S 15-501 at <br />Ephesus Church Road- is scheduled for completion May 2017. <br /> <br />STIP Future Projects - U-5847, Construct Roundabout at Mt. Carmel Church <br />Road and Bennett Road is scheduled for construction June 2018. <br /> <br />STIP Private Rail Crossing Closures: <br /> 47
