from the late 19th century until the 1960s. The farm complexconsists of the originaltwo-story <br />farmhouse, built 1870-74 for Captain John S. Pope, and twentyoutbuildings dating fromthe <br />1870s to the 1960s. The farm has remained in continuous operation by the Pope family and <br />retainsthe original propertyacreage as well as the historic pattern offields and forests. <br />This is a routine public hearing required by state enabling legislation and the County's <br />Historic PreservationOrdinance. Following this joint public hearing, the BOCC and the HPC <br />will take into consideration any public comments in preparing the final ordinance. The HPC will <br />then return the final version of the proposed ordinance for the Board's consideration and <br />adoption at their April 9th <br />meeting. <br />NO PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Commissioner Rich said this wasvery informative and thanked the staff and HPC for <br />their work. She asked howmany properties in Orange County have this status. <br />Pete Sandbeck said there are five properties in OrangeCounty at this time and the <br />process takes about six months. <br />ChairJacobs said the County Commissioners did bring forththe HPC comments to the <br />joint meeting withthe Town of Hillsborough. <br />A motion wasmade by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Pelissier to <br />refer the designation ordinance back to the Historic PreservationCommission for its final <br />review and recommendation, withthe HPC returning a final version of the proposed ordinance <br />for the Board's consideration and adoption at their April 9th <br />meeting. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />b. Draft Orange CountyComprehensive Transportation Plan <br />The Board receivedthe Orange Unified Transportation Board's recommendation, <br />considered closing the public hearing, and making a decision on the draft Comprehensive <br />Transportation Plan (CTP) for OrangeCounty's rural areas. <br />Commissioner McKee arrived at 7:22 PM. <br />Comprehensive Planning Supervisor Tom Altieri made a PowerPointpresentation. <br />Draft Orange County <br />Comprehensive Transportation Plan <br />Rural Area* <br />March 7, 2013 <br />BOCC Meeting <br />Item 6b <br />Purpose <br />1.
