General Public Seat Recruitment <br />Susan Elmore, Chair, requested that a few BOH members review applications for <br />a new General Public Seat, given that Esther Earbin will no longer serve on the <br />Board. Mike and Tony volunteered their services; Mike will lead the effort. There <br />are guides available to assist with the process. Dr. Bridger encouraged members <br />to tell any friends or contacts to submit their applications quickly in order to be <br />approved at the May meeting and to make sure to mention any mental health <br />experience even though it will not be a mental health seat. Dr. Bridger stated that <br />since the opening was posted we have already received three applications. Dr. <br />Bridger suggested canceling the second BOH meeting in April due to the <br />scheduled Joint BOH and BOCC meeting in early April. <br /> <br />The BOH members had several questions and comments that were <br />addressed by Susan Elmore, Chair, and Dr. Bridger. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Mia Burroughs to cancel the April 22nd BOH meeting, <br />seconded by Dan Dewitya, and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />D. BOH Committee Assignments <br />Susan Elmore facilitated a discussion on the annual review of BOH Committee <br />Assignments. Dr. Bridger pointed out the current committee assignments and <br />mentioned that Dan Dewitya and Mia Burroughs currently are not assigned to <br />any committees. <br /> <br />Dan Dewitya and Mia Burroughs volunteered for committees and all other <br />BOH members elected to keep their current committee assignments. <br /> <br />E. Discussion of April BOH & BOCC Meetings <br />Susan Elmore facilitated a discussion of the upcoming Joint BOH and BOCC <br />meeting April 14. The following items were chosen for the agenda: <br />• FSA – to be presented by Meredith Stewart <br />• Dental – Dr. Colleen Bridger <br />• Strategic Plan – BOH members will present <br />o Substance Abuse and Mental Health – Corey Davis <br />o Access to Care – Dan Dewitya <br />o Child and Family Obesity – Nick Galvez <br />• Health in All Policies Request – Tony Whitaker <br /> <br />Dr. Bridger shared her opinion that staff could prepare slides for the Strategic <br />Plan section, to be presented by BOH members. Tony Whitaker suggested <br />that we weave the theme of “health in all policies” throughout the joint <br />meeting, which was ultimately decided to be a stand-alone item at the end of <br />the joint meeting. <br /> <br />The BOH members shared comments for topics at the meeting.
