Fayetteville ObserverHome <br />Live Wire: Sanitaton ratings for <br />Fayetteville restaurants available <br />online <br />Posted: Thursday, July 16, 2015 5:55 pm <br />Live Wire: Sanitaton ratings for Fayetteville restaurants available online <br />Q: How can you find a list of all the restaurant sanitation ratings? - M.B., Fayetteville <br />A: M.B., you can find information about restaurant sanitation ratings from the health department's Division of <br />Environmental Health on the county's website at co.cumberland.nc.us/health/ environmental/sanitation _ratings.aspx. <br />The site provides a link to a database of inspections of food and lodging businesses. <br />Soon, however, finding this information will be much easier. The county's restaurant ratings and inspections will be <br />integrated into Yelp, a website that provides information and user reviews of restaurants and other businesses. <br />"It's still in progress, and it should be within two weeks," said Daniel Ortiz, the environmental health director for the <br />Cumberland County Department of Public Health. <br />Yelp entries accessed with a computer browser will show violations for given inspections and number ratings in <br />addition to letter grades, he said. <br />Orange County has already made that move, and the health score of restaurants show up alongside their operating <br />hours, price range and menu details. Ortiz said the Yelp mobile app will give the letter grade for a given <br />establishment but they're still working "to get out the kinks" to show the full data on the mobile app. <br />- Paige Rentz <br />Live Wire seeks to answer questions of general interest and consumer topics within two weeks.
