The <br />ICD-10 Coordinator as well the ICD-10 Implementation Project Team has assessed <br />areas within the Health Department for potential impacts. Areas assessed were to the <br />budget, system (EMR-Patagonia), and business processes. After the completion of the <br />assessments, we do not foresee a major impact to the Health Department’s budget, <br />systems, or business processes. The Health Department will be compliant on October <br />1, 2015 and be able to submit claims for reimbursement with minimal denials. <br /> <br /> What is ICD-10? ICD-10-CM, International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Edition, is a clinical cataloging system that will be replacing its predecessor; ICD-9-CM. U.S. healthcare regulators will require ICD-10 compliance on Oct. 1, 2015.
