Public and Community Input BOH_DRAFT Aug 2015.doc <br /> <br />Policy I.G. <br />It shall be the policy of the Orange County Board of Health and Health Department to ensure <br />that reasonable mechanisms for community/public input are available. <br /> <br />Purpose <br />The purpose of this policy is to ensure that policies and services of the Orange County Board <br />of Health and Orange County Health Department have considered the health and <br />environmental safety needs of the general population and any at-risk populations of Orange <br />County. <br /> <br />Guidelines <br />1. The Board of Health will reserve a public comment period on each regularly <br />scheduled Board meeting. Each individual will be given a maximum of three minutes <br />for comments, and the public comment period will be limited to 15 minutes each <br />meetingeach meeting. <br /> <br />2. Annually the Board of Health will receive from the staff of the Health Department the <br />results of patient and client input on services received, including any corrective <br />actions deemed necessary to improve services. <br /> <br />3. The Health Director or his/her designee will maintain current contact information on <br />the Department and the Board of Health on the Health Department website. <br /> <br />4. The Health Director shall report significant community-wide input received by the <br />staff to the Board at least quarterly. <br /> <br /> <br />
