01/15/16 <br />Food Safety Quick Cards <br />LESSONS LEARNED <br />This project was a relatively quick and impactful project. It took less <br />than 5 hours of initial staff time. Cards are given during regularly <br />scheduled inspections, and to all newly permitted food service <br />establishments. <br />Qualitatively, the cards have received very positive feedback from <br />establishment owners and operators that they are doing what was <br />expected. Operators recount that employees know how and when to <br />report an illness of foodborne significance. The cards have also <br />received the attention of other EH Departments in the NC. Several <br />have asked for "permission to copy," or for contact information with <br />the plastics company. In short, the focus of the project may have an <br />unintended positive outcome on process improvement by effectively <br />providing Employee Health Policy training materials. <br />3 <br />
