The Board is <br />responsible for hiring an interim director until it has recruited and hired a new Health <br />Director. <br /> <br />Dorothy Cilenti, DrPH, MPH, MSW served as interim director for the Orange County <br />Health Department 2011, prior to Dr. Bridger’s hire, and she is available to serve in this <br />position again. She has worked in local and state public health agencies in North <br />Carolina for more than 20 years and was previously health director in Alamance and <br />Chatham counties. Dr. Cilenti is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the <br />Department of Maternal and Child Health at UNC and the former Administrator of the <br />NC Local Health Department Accreditation Program at the UNC Gillings School of <br />Global Public Health in Chapel Hill. <br /> <br />Recommendation: The Board of Health select Dr. Cilenti as Interim Health Director and <br />delegate to the county manager responsibility for negotiating the terms of employment <br />and completing the hire. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: ___Approve <br /> ___Approve & forward to Board of Commissioners for action <br />_X_Approve & forward to County Manager <br /> ___Accept as information <br /> ___Revise & schedule for future action <br /> ___Other (detail):
