<br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds. (See <br />Attachment 1, column 5) <br /> <br />Library Services <br />6. The Orange County Library has received a donation of $1,000 through the Triangle <br />Community Foundation by the Greenwald Family Charitable Trust. These funds will be <br />used to support Summer Learning kickoff events and programming throughout the <br />summer. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these donated funds. (See <br />Attachment 1, column 6) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br />applicable to this item: <br />• GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br />The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br />gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> <br />7. The Orange County Library has received notification from the Orange County Partnership <br />for Young Children of additional funds of $2,025 for the department’s Outreach Literacy <br />MotheRead Program. The Economic Development Department has received additional revenue through the <br />Visitor’s Bureau, from the Town of Chapel Hill, for surpassing FY 2016-17 performance <br />benchmarks. The Town of Chapel Hill agreed to award the Visitors Bureau 50% of <br />revenues, from hotel/motel occupancy receipts of collections exceeding $1,000,000. The <br />Visitors Bureau met this performance goal and received additional revenue of $93,755, <br />from the Town of Chapel Hill. The Bureau will use the funds for Spring/Summer <br />advertising in Our State Magazine and This is Tourism radio spots on WCHL, as well as <br />6
