He proposed that this be
the last time that the Board honors that request.
The Board agreed by consensus.

A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner McKee to
appoint the following to the Commission for the Environment:

• Appointment to a first full term (position #1) “At-Large” for Jody Eimers expiring
12/31/2020.
• Appointment to a first full term (position #10) “At-Large” for Laura Doherty expiring
12/31/2020.

VOTE: UNANIMOUS

f. Human Relations Commission – Appointment
The Board considered making an appointment to the Human Relations Commission.

A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Rich to
appoint the following to the Human Relations Commission:

• Appointment to a partial term (position #2) “At-Large” for Rebecca High expiring
06/30/2018.
• Appointment to a partial term (position #3) At Large for Alicia Reid expiring 9/30/2018.
• Appointment to partial term (position #13) Town of Hillsborough for Allison Mahaley
expiring 6/30/2020 (is being appointed without a resolution from Town of Hillsborough
because they have not submitted anything over the past 8 months).

Commissioner Price asked if the Board should be filling the position.
Commissioner Jacobs said it has been open for eight months, and the BOCC decided
previously to only wait so long to fill positions, and the applicant lives in Hillsborough.
Commissioner Price asked if the Town of Hillsborough was supposed to put someone
forward.
Donna Baker said the Town has failed to do so, despite repeated requests.
Chair Dorosin said there is a second Hillsborough position, which the Board is not
filling.

VOTE: UNANIMOUS

Commissioner Jacobs said Hillsborough has two positions to appoint; Carrboro has
two positions to appoint; and Chapel Hill has one position to appoint. He said this was
apparently a data entry mistake, which has been corrected.
Commissioner Price referred to item 11-a, the Go Triangle Transit Community
Advisory Committee, and said their bylaws state that each member would be responsible for
their own expenses. She said if the Board desires people to serve that typically use public
transportation or rides a bus, then some reimbursement should be provided.

12. Information Items
