According to the Natural <br />Gas Vehicle Coalition, vehicles using natural gas can <br />reduce emissions of carbon monoxide (CO) by <br />approximately 70 %, non - methane organic gas (NMOG) <br />by 89 %, and oxides of nitrogen (NOX) by 87 %. <br />Emissions of the principal greenhouse gas (CO2) are <br />reduced by 20% to 30 %.
