The chosen neighborhood consists of about 1,300 Duke Energy customers. <br />The goal is to service a minimum of 70% of the neighborhood. <br /> <br />A kick-off event has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Hargraves <br />Community Center, 216 N Roberson St, Chapel Hill, NC 27516 from 6:30 to 8 pm. Free <br />food will be served and childcare shall be provided at no cost. Customers identified within the <br />designated boundaries shall be notified by mail through a letter and postcard as well as by <br />program energy efficient technicians days leading up to the event. <br /> <br />The Duke Energy Neighborhood Energy Saver Program offers free walkthrough energy <br />assessments designed to help customers learn how their homes use energy and how can <br />their monthly electric bills can be lowered. This service is available to customers living in <br />select, census-defined communities identified by Duke Energy in coordination with such <br />community stakeholders as EmPOWERment, Inc. <br /> <br />As part of this special program, customers in select neighborhoods may receive up to 16 <br />energy saving products installed at no cost: <br />• Energy-efficient light bulbs <br />• Water-saving shower heads and faucet aerators <br />• Air Conditioning/heating system filters (a year’s supply) <br />• Other energy-efficient upgrades available for your home <br />Customers’ participation in the NES program is strictly voluntary. <br />Eligibility <br />This service is available to residential customers living in select, census-defined <br />communities identified by Duke Energy. All contact with eligible customers shall be <br />initiated by Duke Energy. Customers will receive a postcard and letter notifying them of <br />the program’s local neighborhood kick-off event. Just before and immediately following the <br />event, Energy Efficiency Technicians will leave a notice on the doors of Duke Energy <br />ORANGE COUNTY | NORTH CAROLINA <br />12
