The American Institute of Architects AIA Document A201 2007, Sixteenth Edition, <br />"General Conditions of the Contract for Construction ", and the Additions and <br />Modifications included hereinafter constitute the GENERAL CONDITIONS of the <br />Contract. Any part of the AIA Document 201 -2007 GENERAL CONDITIONS that is <br />not modified or deleted by these Supplementary General Conditions shall remain in <br />effect. <br />II. MODIFICATIONS OF ARTICLE 1 - GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />A. Paragraph 1.1. "BASIC DEFINITIONS" <br />In Subparagraph 1.1.1, delete the last sentence and add at the end of the first <br />sentence the following material: <br />The Contract Documents will include the bidding requirements, which include, <br />but are not limited to, the Invitation to Bidders, Instructions to Bidders and Form <br />of Proposal. <br />2. Add new Subparagraph 1.1.8 as follows: <br />1.1.8 MISCELLANEOUS DEFINITIONS AND ABBREVIATIONS. The <br />word or words, as quoted below, when used herein mean the following: <br />1. "ASME ": Applicable Code, Test or Requirement of the American <br />Society of Mechanical Engineers, 29 West 39th Street, New York, <br />New York 10018 <br />2. "ASTM specifications ": Standard Specifications of the American <br />Society for Testing Materials, 1916 Race Street, Philadelphia, PA <br />19103 <br />3. "Architect ": All references to "Architect" in the AIA Documents and <br />other contract documents are hereby changed to mean "Designer ". <br />4. "Designer ": 5thWall Building Diagnostics Consultants, Raleigh, <br />North Carolina <br />5. "Contractor ": Prime Contractor who enters into the contract. <br />6. "NFPA ": National Fire Protection Association <br />7. "Notice to Proceed ": A written notice given by the Owner to the <br />contractor (with copy to the Architect) fixing the date on which the <br />Contract Time will commence to run and on which the Contractor <br />shall start to perform his obligations under the Contract Documents. <br />8. "Owner ": Orange County Asset Management. <br />9. "Owner's Representative ": 5thWall Building Diagnostics Consultants. <br />10. "Provide ": Contractor to furnish and install <br />11. "Selected ": Selected by the Architect <br />12. "Underwriters" or "UL ": Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., 207 East <br />Ohio Street, Chicago, Illinois 60611 <br />13. "Manufacturers Specifications ", "Manufacturers Directions" or <br />"Manufacturers recommendations: The referenced manufacturer's <br />current published specifications or manual in effect on the date of the <br />SGC -1 <br />
