For products receiving a waterborne treatment, include statement that moisture content of <br />treated materials was reduced to levels specified before shipment to Project site. <br />E. Include copies of warranties from chemical treatment manufacturers for each type of <br />treatment. <br />F. Fastener Patterns: Full -size templates for fasteners in exposed framing. <br />1.07 Delivery, Storage and Handling <br />A. Cover wood products to protect against moisture. Support stacked products to prevent <br />deformation and to allow air circulation. <br />B. Stack lumber flat with spacers between each bundle to provide air circulation. Provide <br />for air circulation around stacks and under coverings. <br />PART2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 General <br />A. Dimension Lumber: Comply with PS 20 and requirements of specified grading agencies. <br />1. If no species is specified, provide any species graded by the agency specified; if <br />no grading agency is specified, provide lumber graded by any grading agency <br />meeting the specified requirements. <br />2. Grading Agency: Any grading agency whose rules are approved by the Board of <br />Review, American Lumber Standard Committee and who provides grading <br />service for the species and grade specified; provide lumber stamped with grade <br />mark unless otherwise indicated. <br />B. Lumber fabricated from old growth timber is not permitted. <br />C. Provide wood harvested within a 500 mile radius of the project site. <br />D. Lumber salvaged from deconstruction or demolition of existing buildings or structures is <br />permitted in lieu of sustainably harvested lumber provided it is clean, denailed, and free <br />of paint and finish materials, and other contamination. <br />E. Lumber fabricated from recovered timber (abandoned in transit) is permitted in lieu of <br />sustainably harvested lumber, unless otherwise noted, provided it meets the specified <br />requirements for new lumber and is free of contamination. <br />2.01 Materials <br />A. Treated Wood: Shall be No. 2 or better southern yellow pine, kiln -dried to a moisture <br />content of not more than 15 percent. Shall be sound, thoroughly seasoned, dressed to <br />nominal finish dimension, and free of warpage, cupping, and bowing. All nailers and other <br />blocking associated with the roofing installation shall be pressure treated with 0.40 pcf <br />17 -198 Rough Carpentry <br />061000 -2 <br />
