Should the Contractor desire to use products of other manufacturers than those specified, a <br />written request shall be made to the Designer a minimum of three days prior to the date for <br />receiving bids. <br />B. Substitutions of other, non - specified, products or materials shall be considered only when <br />specified products or material become unavailable due to no fault of contractor and if the <br />non - specified products or materials meet or exceed all criteria of the specified products. <br />C. Contractor shall document each request with complete data substantiating compliance of <br />proposed substitution with contract documents. <br />D. Request for substitution constitutes a representation that Contractor: <br />Has investigated proposed product or material and determined that it meets or <br />exceeds, in all respects, specified product(s). <br />2. Shall provide the same warranty for the substitution as for specified product(s) <br />and/or materials. <br />Shall coordinate installation and make other changes which may be required for <br />work to be complete in all respects. <br />4. Waives claims for additional costs which may subsequently become apparent. <br />E. Substitutions shall not be considered when they are indicated or implied on Shop Drawings <br />or Product or Material Data submittals without separate written request, or when acceptance <br />will require substantial revision of Contract Documents. <br />F. Designer shall determine acceptability of proposed substitution and will notify Contractor of <br />acceptance or rejection in writing within a reasonable time. <br />G. Designer shall evaluate each substitution submittal for possible credit to the Owner. <br />1.07 Workmanship <br />Work shall be performed by persons qualified and trained to install the specified products which will <br />result in the workmanship and quality specified and to afford the manufacturer's guaranty. <br />1.08 Manufacturer's Instructions <br />A. Work shall be performed in accordance with materials manufacturer's specifications and <br />associated details submitted in accordance with Section 013300, Submittals unless otherwise <br />noted. <br />B. Conflicts between the specifications and manufacturers instructions shall be brought to the <br />attention of the Designer. Work in the conflicted area shall not proceed until conflicts are <br />satisfactorily resolved by the Designer. <br />17 -198 Product Requirements <br />16000.3 <br />
