All materials shall be stored so as to maintain clean, dry, off - ground, weathertight conditions <br />and to protect against loss, damage, and wetting. Wet materials shall be marked, rejected for <br />installation, and removed from the project site <br />C. Materials temporarily stored shall be located in approved areas. Materials shall be stored on <br />clean, dry and raised platforms so as to prevent wetting or moisture absorption and yet <br />provide sufficient ventilation to prevent condensation. Materials shall be covered so as to be <br />completely weathertight with coverings that are "breathable" (such as canvas). Factory <br />applied wrapping or polyethylene covers shall be unacceptable as the only storage covering. <br />Methods and materials used for weather protection shall be approved by the Designer. <br />D. Store with seals and labels intact and legible. <br />E. Store sensitive products in weather tight, climate controlled, enclosures in an <br />environment favorable to product. <br />F. For exterior storage of fabricated products, place on sloped supports above ground. <br />G. Provide bonded off -site storage and protection when site does not permit on -site storage <br />or protection. <br />H. Cover products subject to deterioration with impervious sheet covering. Provide <br />ventilation to prevent condensation and degradation of products. <br />I. Store loose granular materials on solid flat surfaces in well- drained area. Prevent mixing <br />with foreign matter. <br />J. Provide equipment and personnel to store products by methods to prevent soiling, <br />disfigurement, or damage. <br />K. Arrange storage of products to permit access for inspection. Periodically inspect to verify <br />products are undamaged and are maintained in acceptable condition. <br />L. Use of the project site by Owner shall not be compromised by the provisions of this section. <br />1.05 Product Options <br />A. Within seven days after Notice to Proceed, submit list of products and materials proposed in <br />accordance with Section 013300, Submittals. <br />B. Options: <br />1. Products and materials specified only by referenced standard: Any product or <br />material meeting that standard. <br />2. Products and materials specified by naming several manufacturers: Products and <br />materials of any named manufacturer meeting specifications. <br />3. Products and materials of other manufacturers: Submit a written request for <br />substitution stating manufacturer, product or material trade name, and product's or <br />material's ability to meet or exceed the specifications. <br />17 -198 Product Requirements <br />16000.2 <br />
