To provide for temporary facilities and controls required for the performance of the project. <br />Such items include but are not necessarily limited to utilities such as heat, water, electricity <br />telephone; sanitary facilities; Contractor's facilities; and enclosures such as tarpaulins, <br />barricades and canopies. <br />B. All equipment furnished by Contractor shall comply with all pertinent safety requirements. <br />C. Ladders, scaffolding, planks, hoists, and all similar items furnished by individual trades in <br />the execution of their own portions of the work are not a part of this section. <br />1.03 Product Handling <br />A. Contractor shall exercise all means necessary to maintain temporary facilities and controls in <br />a proper and safe condition throughout the progress of the project. <br />B. All required connections to existing utility systems shall be made with minimum disruption. <br />If disruption of existing service is required, a minimum of 48 hours notice shall be given to <br />the Owner and connections shall not be made without Owner's approval. If necessary, <br />Contractor shall provide for alternate temporary service. <br />C. If the required utility is not available from the Owner, the Contractor shall provide for <br />alternate temporary service for the duration of the project. <br />PART2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 All temporary facilities shall be subject to Owner's approval. <br />A. Electricity <br />1. The Owner shall furnish electricity required for construction at no cost to the <br />Contractor. Contractor shall exercise measures to conserve energy. <br />2. Access to "deminimus" 110 volt electricity by Contractor shall be designated by the <br />Owner. <br />17 -198 Temporary Facilities and Controls <br />015000.1 <br />
