VOTE: UNANIMOUS 216 217 ADDED AGENDA ITEM: ORANGE COUNTY POPULATION AND EMPLOYMENT PROJECTIONS 218 <br /> 219 <br />Craig reviewed the projections. 220 <br /> 221 <br />Lydia Wegman asked if actual numbers could be provided. 222 <br /> 223 <br />Craig Benedict responded that those can be provided at the next meeting. 224 <br /> 225 <br />Tony Blake asked who is the MPO and stated that it appears their numbers always disregard what is actually 226 <br />happening. 227 <br /> 228 <br />Craig Benedict responded that staff will provide a blurb on the MPO. 229 <br /> 230 <br />Paul Guthrie requested a line be added to the projections to include available land in the County. 231 <br /> 232 <br />Craig Benedict responded that may be possible based on available data. 233 <br /> 234 <br />Tony Blake noted that it would interesting to include construction costs per square foot since Orange County tends to 235 <br />be at the higher end. 236 <br /> 237 <br />Craig Benedict noted there numbers are coming from an analysis of parcel by parcel information and zoning or 238 <br />density standards. 239 <br /> 240 <br />Lydia Wegman asked for clarification for when this item was to be presented. 241 <br /> 242 <br />Craig Benedict responded that it will be presented at the November 20 BOCC meeting. 243 <br /> 244 <br />Lydia Wegman asked why he will be coming back next month regarding this item and input from the Board needed 245 <br />tonight. 246 <br /> 247 <br />Craig Benedict responded next month will be an overview of how this was all brought together and how this can be 248 <br />used moving forward. 249 <br /> 250 <br />Randy Marshall requested an update on the Comprehensive Transportation Plan. 251 <br /> 252 <br />Craig Benedict responded that very recently the Comprehensive Transportation Plan has been completed, but not 253 <br />voted upon. 254 <br /> 255 <br />Paul Guthrie asked if the projections include future development in Chatham County. 256 <br /> 257 <br />Craig Benedict responded that he did not believe so, but does take into account other national retail and commuting 258 <br />trends. 259 <br /> 260 ADDED AGENDA ITEM: PLANNING BOARD TRAINING 261 262 <br />Perdita Holtz noted that last month the Board stated interest for more training. After investigating options, it appears 263 <br />that the best option for training may be with the UNC School of Government. UNC SOG provides 16-18 twenty 264 <br />minutes modules on planning in North Carolina. If this is something the Board is interested in, the Planning 265 <br /> 9
