1 <br />Michael Harvey <br />From:Nishith Trivedi <br />Sent:Thursday, December 07, 2017 3:17 PM <br />To:Michael Harvey; Tom Altieri; Craig Benedict <br />Subject:Settler's Point Field Notes <br />Attachments:Settler's Point NC-86.pdf; NC-86 at I-40 South View.JPG; NC-86 at I-40 North View.JPG <br />FYI,  <br />  <br />In preparation for tomorrow afternoon’s meeting, I went out to NC‐86 south of I‐40 to do some field inspections. I used  <br />a measure wheel to gage the distances to certain key points. Attached are my field notes that I will be transferring to an  <br />aerial map. Here is a summary of my findings.  <br />  <br />I do not see how a u turn is possible along this stretch of the road with cars and trucks going 45 miles per hour (speed  <br />limit) or more along 760 feet (from exit ramp) of road before they start curving for another 460 feet as they hit the S  <br />curve at the same speed. All of this going uphill for those going south and downhill for those going north. The right of  <br />way gradually decreased from 100’ to 60’ where the initial curve starts. Attached are pictures I took from the street  <br />showing the North (100’ row) and South (less row) views.  <br />  <br />Hope this helps.   <br />  <br />Sincerely, <br />Nishith Trivedi <br />Transportation Planner <br />Orange County Planning Department <br />131 W.
