The amendment outline form for this project, contained within Attachment 1, was approved by <br />the BOCC at its May 2, 2017 regular meeting. Agenda materials from this meeting can be <br />viewed at: http://server3.co.orange.nc.us:8088/weblink8/0/doc/46415/Page1.aspx. <br /> <br />This item was presented to the Ordinance Review Committee (ORC) at its July 5, 2017 meeting. <br />The draft notes from that meeting are contained in Attachment 2. <br /> <br />Please note the amendment package, as contained in Attachment 4, is still being reviewed by <br />the County’s Attorney Office. Any revisions deemed necessary to meet legal sufficiency <br />occurring after the August Planning Board meeting packet is sent out to individual members will <br />be provided as soon as they are available. <br /> <br />Planning Director’s Recommendation: The Planning Director recommends approval of the <br />Statement of Consistency, indicating the amendments are reasonable and in the public interest, <br />contained in Attachment 3 and the proposed amendment package as contained in Attachment <br />4. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Consideration and approval will not create the need for additional funding <br />for the provision of County services. Existing staff, included in the Departmental staffing budget, <br />will accomplish the work required to process this amendment. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Planning Director recommends the Planning Board: <br />1. Review the proposed UDO text amendments, <br />2. Deliberate on the proposal as desired, <br />3. Consider the Planning Director’s recommendation, and <br />4. Make a recommendation to the BOCC on the Statement of Consistency (Attachment 3) <br />and the proposed amendments (Attachment 4) in time for the September 11, 2017 <br />Quarterly Public Hearing. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 42
