Article 5: Uses <br /> Section 5.8: Standards for Adult and Child care & Educational Facilities <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Orange County, North Carolina – Unified Development Ordinance Page 5-84 <br /> <br />SECTION 5.8: STANDARDS FOR ADULT AND CHILD CARE & EDUCATIONAL <br />FACILITIES <br />5.8.1 Adult Daycare Home29 <br />(A) Submittal Requirements <br />(1) In addition to the information required by Section 2.4.3, the plot plan shall show <br />the following: <br /> The location of the residence in which the Adult Daycare is to be located <br />in relation to existing property lines and adjacent homes; <br />(a) The location, number, and means of access to required off street parking <br />areas; <br /> Narrative outlining proposed activities for the use. <br />(2) A floor plan showing the use and dimensions of each room and the location of <br />entrances and exits. <br />(3) Evidence the facility qualifies for a State of North Carolina Adult Daycare Home <br />license. <br />(B) Standards of Evaluation <br /> The use shall be limited to serving no more than 16 clients. <br />(1) The minimum requirements to qualify for a State of North Carolina Adult Daycare <br />Home license are satisfied. <br />(2) The property has direct frontage and access onto a public State maintained <br />road. <br />(3) Pick-up and drop off areas shall be located on-site, separated from required <br />parking areas and drive-aisles, and have sufficient vehicular stacking area to <br />accommodate a minimum of three vehicles. <br />(4) Overnight accommodation of clients shall be prohibited. <br />5.8.2 Adult Daycare Facility30 <br />(A) Standards in Commercial Districts <br />(1) The property has direct frontage and access onto a public State maintained <br />road. <br />(2) Pick-up and drop off areas shall be located on-site, separated from required <br />parking areas and drive-aisles, and have sufficient vehicular stacking area to <br />accommodate a minimum of three vehicles. <br />(3) Overnight accommodation of clients shall be prohibited. <br /> <br />5.8.15.8.3 Daycare Center in a Residence <br />(A) Submittal Requirements <br />(1) In addition to the information required by Section 2.4.3, the plot plan shall show <br />the following: <br /> <br />29 A new land use staff is recommending to address potential care for adults.  This use is not intended to allow  <br />overnight accommodation(s).    <br />30 Added to address Attorney comments on creating distinction from proposed ‘Adult daycare home’ and existing  <br />child care facilities.  <br /> 219
