We offer joint support groups for survivors of <br />SV who also struggle with addiction. <br /> Family Violence & Rape Crisis Services of Chatham County: Cross referrals. <br /> Law Enforcement: We provide victim advocacy services during law enforcement interviews and <br />investigations. We partner with local law enforcement agencies to provide professional training to <br />patrol officers and investigators on responding to crimes related to SV. <br /> Legal Aid of North Carolina: Cross referrals, particularly through the Battered Immigrant Project. <br /> LGBTQ Center of Durham: Cross referrals. Joint support groups. We offer training and technical <br />assistance (TTA) on trauma-informed service provision. <br /> NC Coalition Against Sexual Assault: We have jointly developed training programs and manuals <br />for NCCASA to disperse to anti-violence agencies across the state. <br /> Orange Correctional Facility: We provide crisis counseling at the prison. We also provide <br />accompaniment to the hospital if an inmate needs a sexual assault forensic evidence kit (“rape kit”). <br /> Orange County Domestic Violence Needs Assessment Planning Committee: We participate on <br />this committee to evaluate and address needs of violence survivors. <br /> Orange County Health Department: Cross referrals. We participate in their Latino Health Coalition <br />in order to improve health outcomes for Latinos in Orange County. <br /> Orange County Multi-Disciplinary Team: OCRCC attends MDT meetings with the Department of <br />Social Services, the District Attorney’s Office, local law enforcement, Guardian ad Litem, and other <br />providers to review child abuse cases, coordinate response, and ensure better judicial outcomes. <br /> Orange County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART): The OCRCC coordinates the county- <br />wide SART, bringing together representatives from local law enforcement, the District Attorney’s office, <br />UNC Hospitals, UNC-Chapel Hill, and other local agencies to improve the overall community response <br />to SV survivors. The goal is to collaboratively provide the best system of care for survivors needing <br />services through a variety of local departments. Meeting monthly, SART receives training, shares <br />experiences, and addresses issues as they arise. <br /> Salvation Army – PROJECT FIGHT: Cross referrals. We participate in their Rapid Response Team <br />of the Triangle together in order to address the needs of trafficking victims in our area. <br /> University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: <br />o We work closely with the Carolina Women’s Center, specifically with the Gender Violence <br />Services Coordinators (GVSCs), in providing appropriate support for student survivors, <br />partnering on community events, and serving on joint prevention and response committees. <br />o Since UNC hired the Interpersonal Violence Prevention Coordinator (IVPC) in 2009, we have <br />maintained a strong relationship to assist their work with educational programs to prevent SV <br />and relationship abuse on campus. <br />o We participate on the UNC Sexual Violence Primary Prevention Task Force. <br />o We work with the Dean of Students Office to provide services and to advocate for student <br />survivors. <br />o We have worked with UNC’s LGBTQ Center to provide cross referrals and to present joint <br />education and training programs. <br />o We provide education programs to UNC faculty and staff, classrooms, student groups, and <br />Greek organizations. <br />o We provide service-learning opportunities for students. With student volunteers and interns, <br />the OCRCC is able to maximize our outreach and services while students gain invaluable <br />professional experience. <br />o OCRCC advocates accompany student survivors to Campus Health Services when they need <br />medical attention and/or a sexual assault forensic evidence kit (“rape kit”) completed. <br /> <br /> <br />
