AGENCY INFORMATION (Be Very Brief and Concise) <br /> <br />Please provide the following information about your agency (2 pages OR LESS): <br /> <br />a) Years in Operation, Date of Incorporation (Month/Year): <br />44 years in operation. Founded in September 1974. Incorporated in December 1978. <br /> <br />b) Agency’s Purpose/Mission (no more than a few sentences): <br />Our mission is to stop sexual violence and its impact through support, education, and advocacy. <br />We envision a world free from sexual violence and all other forms of oppression. <br /> <br />c) Types of Services the Agency Provides (bullet format): <br /> <br />Client Services: All services – including individual therapy – are free, confidential, trauma-informed, <br />and available in both English and Spanish. <br /> Crisis intervention services via 24-Hour Help Line including: <br />o Emotional support, active listening, safety planning, suicide intervention <br />o Accompaniment to the hospital, to make a report to law enforcement, to court, etc. <br />o Information and referrals; case management as needed <br /> Support groups and workshops <br />o Traditional, discussion-based groups organized around trauma experience (e.g., a group for <br />adult survivors of child sexual abuse) or demographics (e.g., a group for LGBTQ+ survivors) <br />o Alternative healing groups organized around an activity such as yoga, arts, meditation, etc. <br /> Bilingual Therapy – On-site licensed mental health professionals provide individual therapy <br />sessions for survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones in English and Spanish. <br /> <br />Community Education: <br /> Safe Touch – Our original safety education program for preventing child sexual abuse <br />victimization is presented annually in every elementary school in both local school districts plus a <br />number of independent schools and private groups (pre-K through 5th grade). <br /> Start Strong – Our multi-session, evidence-informed primary prevention program empowers <br />students to stand against sexual violence in their schools and communities, preventing the <br />perpetration of sexual violence (7th and 9th grade). <br /> Parent & caregiver education – Our programs utilize both primary prevention and risk reduction <br />strategies, teaching parents and caregivers concrete steps and practical tips for preventing, <br />recognizing, and responding to child sexual abuse. <br /> Professional training – We provide custom trainings on the dynamics of sexual assault, providing <br />trauma-informed care, and basic guidelines for providing effective support. We also offer technical <br />assistance to organizations working to develop response and prevention protocols. <br /> <br />d) Agency’s History with Providing These Services: <br /> <br />The OCRCC has provided crisis intervention services for survivors of sexual violence since 1974. <br />Our highly qualified staff members regularly attend continuing education trainings and review new <br />research to ensure that we are providing the best level of trauma-informed care. Additionally, we have <br />the most comprehensive volunteer training program in the state. With more than 60 hours of training, <br />our volunteer crisis Companions – along with our staff – provide expert support and advocacy <br />services to over 650 clients each year. Both qualitative and quantitative data show the high success <br />level of our client services. As a leader in the field, our Client Services team regularly provides <br />consultations for other anti-violence agencies. We have presented at state-wide and national <br />conferences; provided one-on-one consultations for agencies seeking advice; and offered trainings <br />for victim service providers, healthcare professionals, and others on best practices for trauma- <br />informed care.
