• The "Paint it Orange" plein air event in partnership with the Hillsborough Arts Council was a success. <br /> As of this date, 15 paintings have been sold and the remainder will be on display through the end of <br /> the month. A debriefing meeting has been held to identify improvements for next year's event. <br /> • Murray has made AEP data presentations to five community groups with several more scheduled. <br /> • Murray has negotiated a sponsorship agreement with WCHL for OCAC"Heart of the Arts" spots as <br /> part of our marketing outreach. <br /> • The art map has been a big success. Five-thousand were printed and some distribution sights are <br /> already asking for more. <br /> • OCAC has been invited to participate in UNC's "Arts Everywhere" on-campus event in April, 2018. <br /> Details TBD. <br /> • Several board members praised Tarish Pipkin's "Just Another Lynching" puppet performance. <br /> Murray is hoping to meet with the Stone Center to book a performance and The Arts Center will <br /> include it in their spring schedule. <br /> VIII. Liaison Reports: <br /> • Hoke: Visitor's Bureau—The Visitor's Bureau reports their revenue is up but they continue to be <br /> concerned about the impact of local Airbnb(s). Tim will serve on a sub-committee that is exploring a <br /> potential new facility to attract visitors. At present,the focus is on a student sports facility. <br /> • Friend: Hillsborough Arts Council—Katie presented the AEP data to the Council's Board. This <br /> generated a lot of very positive and clarifying discussion regarding the role of the Arts Council and <br /> the role of the Arts Commission. The Arts Council will be starting their strategic planning process in <br /> early 2018. OCAC will be hosting a "Orange County Employees Day" at the Arts Council on Tuesday, <br /> November 215T. Refreshments and discounts on gift shop items. This is part of our outreach effort <br /> to encourage Orange County employees' participation in the arts. <br /> • Most board members participated in the OCAG Open Studio Tour. Always a great event. <br /> • Mayer—Carrboro Arts Committee: The Committee has approved "rainbow" crosswalks in Carrboro. <br /> The development of a public art policy has been added to the Carrboro staff's work plan.
