Knowledge, Skills and Abilities <br /> <br />Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, including modern office <br />technology. <br />Knowledge of those portions of the County’s UDO and local municipalities’ ordinances <br />regulating erosion control and stormwater management and be familiar with general land <br />use regulations. <br />Knowledge of the principles and practices of geology and hydrogeology. <br />Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices. <br />Knowledge of surveying and drafting techniques and methods. <br />Knowledge of relevant state laws and regulations. <br />Skill in planning and prioritizing work. <br />Skill in reading plans, drawings, and maps. <br />Skill in the use of surveying and measurement tools and equipment. <br />Skill in public and interpersonal relations. <br />Skill in oral and written communication. <br />Ability to walk over rough terrain and move around undeveloped property, as well as <br />construction sites. <br />Ability to drive a vehicle and find way to properties being considered for or under <br />development. <br />Ability to utilize the County’s geographic information system (GIS). <br /> <br />Physical Requirements <br /> <br />Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational support functions of <br />standing, walking, stooping, typing, talking, sitting, bending, kneeling, grasping, hearing, <br />handling, reaching and repetitive motions of the hands/wrists/feet. <br /> <br />Must be able to perform light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or <br />up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise <br />move objects including the human body. <br /> <br />Must possess the visual acuity to operate a passenger vehicle, prepare and analyze data <br />and figures, perform accounting, work on a computer terminal, perform extensive <br />reading, use measurement devices and observe construction activities, evaluate end <br />product and the parameters associated with surface water identification. <br /> <br />Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions including extreme hot <br />and cold temperatures. <br /> <br />Worker may be subject to noise sufficient to require shouting in order to be heard. <br /> <br />4
