NAICS Codes <br />Perdita Holtz, Planner III, 245-2578 <br />Craig Benedict, Director, 245-2575 <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on <br />Planning Director initiated text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) that <br />would modify some development standards, types of permitted uses, and use standards within <br />the Hillsborough Economic Development District (EDD). <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: In order to better promote economic development opportunities in the <br />Hillsborough Economic Development District (EDD), the Planning Director is suggesting UDO <br />text amendments to modify some development standards, types of permitted uses, and use <br />standards. Plans for County investment in water and sewer infrastructure to parcels south of <br />Interstate 40 and in the vicinity of Old Highway 86 are underway and these UDO text <br />amendments focus on this geographic area in conjunction with a related, separate proposed <br />rezoning action. <br /> <br />Attachment 1 contains additional information and analysis regarding this amendment. Proposed <br />text amendment language can be found in Attachment 3 within a “track changes” format. <br />Attachment 4 contains information summarizing some aspects of the proposed amendments. <br />The map in Attachment 5 shows the extent of the Hillsborough EDD. Attachment 7 is the <br />NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) code list; it is included because uses in <br />the Hillsborough EDD are regulated by NAICS sectors. <br /> <br />Planning staff held a Public Information Meeting on July 26 to explain the proposed <br />amendments affecting the Hillsborough EDD. Five interested persons attended the meeting. <br /> 214
