Most Recent BOCC Goals <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To briefly discuss the BOCC review of the 2016 Planning Board and staff work <br />program and BOCC upcoming goals. <br /> Tonight’s focus: Prior County 2040 Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and <br />Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) population and employment projections. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Every 5 years the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro (DCHC) MPO develops new <br />projections of population and employment to input into a model that gauges traffic. The projected <br />traffic volumes are compared to roadway infrastructure capacity and Metropolitan Transportation <br />Improvement Program (MTIP) and State Transpiration Improvement Plan (STIP) decisions are <br />made where deficiencies are realized. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Planning Director recommends the Board: <br />1. Hear the presentation. <br />2. Provide feedback as desired. <br /> <br /> 55 55
