Because the UDO has been amended since these comments were made, referenced sections may be slightly off as some portions of the UDO have been <br />renumbered. <br />5 <br />Implementation Bridge - Future Phase Suggestions Planning Staff Comment <br />page 14 Consider new ideas for public notification. <br />Rather than adding new requirements to the UDO, staff would <br />recommend that any new ideas become a policy instead of part of an <br />ordinance. The County maintains electronic notification lists, which <br />includes the ability to be notified when BOCC agendas are posted to the <br />County website. Additionally, in late 2014, the Planning Department <br />started posting a list of current development projects on its webpage so <br />interested people can regularly check the information for items of <br />interest. <br />page 14 Include more cross-references, on-line search mechanisms.The UDO is available electronically as a PDF document, which is <br />searchable using the Adobe PDF search feature. <br />page 14 Mention the Orange County / Town of Hillsborough Interlocal <br />Agreement. <br />Work on a joint land use plan was initiated in September 2012 and the <br />Joint Land Use Plan was heard at the Sep. 2013 QPH. Land Use <br />classifications and zoning were adopted on Nov. 6, 2014 for areas <br />affected by the Town relinquiching portions of its ETJ. Text will be added <br />to the UDO as necessary as items move through the adoption process. <br />page 14 Develop more guidelines for selection of school sites. <br />page 14 Mention the Water and Sewer Management, Planning, and <br />Boundary Agreement. <br />page 14 Incorporate references to Animal Control Ordinance, align <br />definitions. <br />This was COMPLETED with recent amendments approved by the BOCC in <br />January 2012. Definitions are now the same with respect to a Class I and <br />Class II kennel from a Zoning and Animal Control Ordinance standpoint. <br />page 14 Include language to better differentiate between the different <br />types of residential zoning districts. <br />This is the purpose of the "Purpose", "Applicability" and "Dimensional <br />and Ratio Standards" sections of each of the zoning charts contained in <br />Article 3. <br />page 14 Reconsider treating withdrawal of an application as a denial. <br />APPENDIX LIST <br /> 84
