• In 2014, two property-owner initiated applications for rezonings/text <br />amendments were processed. The Planning Board reviewed these and issued <br />a recommendation to the BOCC on each application. <br />• Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map and Zoning Atlas amendments <br />related to the Hillsborough/Orange County Central Orange Coordinated Area – <br />Joint Land Use Plan <br />• Pleasant Green Woods Phase IV major subdivision concept plan and <br />preliminary plat. <br />• Triple Crown Farms major subdivision preliminary plat. <br />• Stroud’s Creek major subdivision concept plan and preliminary plat. <br />• Class A SUP for solar facility in Cheeks Township. <br />• Amendments to Joint Planning Land Use Plan & Agreement with Chapel Hill <br />and Carrboro related to density clarifications, agricultural uses exempt from <br />zoning regulations, and agricultural support enterprises. <br />• Reviewed and commented on the draft Parks & Recreation Master Plan. <br /> <br />List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponsored Annually. <br />• Monthly Planning Board meetings <br />• Quarterly Public Hearings (4) <br />• Ordinance Review Committee (ORC) meetings and special meetings <br />as required <br />• Review applications for ordinance amendments, major subdivisions, <br />and Class A special use permits and provide recommendations to <br />the BOCC <br />• Develop and recommend policies, ordinances, administrative <br />procedures and other means for carrying out plans <br /> <br />Describe this board/commission’s activities/accomplishments in carrying out BOCC <br />goal(s)/priorities, if applicable. <br />The Planning Board is involved in the ongoing implementation of the 2030 <br />Comprehensive Plan. Potential projects listed in the “Implementation Bridge,” <br />such as updates to home occupation standards, continue to be worked on as do <br />small area plan implementation measures, such as the Efland zoning overlay <br />districts. <br /> <br />If your board/commission played the role of an Element Lead Advisory Board involved <br />in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan preparation process, please indicate your board’s <br />activities/accomplishments as they may relate to the Comprehensive Plan’s goals or <br />objectives. <br />(The Element Lead Advisory Boards include: Planning Board, EDC, OUTBoard, <br />Commission for the Environment, Historic Preservation Commission, Agriculture <br />Preservation Board, Affordable Housing Board, Recreation and Parks Advisory Council) <br />The processing of small area plan recommendations specifically addresses an <br />objective included in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. Following are specific <br />Comprehensive Plan Goals and Objectives that have been part of the Planning <br />Board’s recent work: <br /> <br />Land Use Overarching Goal: Coordination of the amount, location, pattern and <br />designation of future land uses, with availability of County services and facilities <br />sufficient to meet the needs of Orange County’s population and economy consistent <br />with other Comprehensive Plan element goals and objectives. <br />42
