Please complete the <br />following information, limited to the front and back of this form. On average, twice per month (12 regular <br />meetings + 4 Quarterly Public Hearings + special or sub-committee meetings). <br /> <br />Brief Statement of Board/Commission’s Assigned Charge and Responsibilities. <br />Under the authority of NC General Statute, the BOCC created the Planning Board <br />to embark upon a continuing planning program, including but not limited to the <br />preparation and maintenance of a Comprehensive Plan for Orange County, in <br />protection of the public health, safety, and general welfare of present and future <br />residents, landowners and visitors. The duties of the Planning Board are listed in <br />Section 1.6.3 of the Unified Development Ordinance. <br />What are your Board/Commission’s most important accomplishments? <br />Within last 2 years: <br />• Annandale at Creekwood major subdivision preliminary plat. <br />• Triple Crown Farms major subdivision concept plan. <br />• UDO text amendment to require a neighborhood information meeting for <br />governmental uses. <br />• UDO text amendment to establish a new conditional zoning district for <br />Agricultural Support Enterprises and various accompanying changes to the <br />text. <br /> <br />More recently: <br />• UDO text amendment to change standards related to home occupations. <br />• UDO, Comprehensive Plan & Zoning Atlas Amendments to adopt two new <br />zoning overlay districts in Efland (denied by BOCC in Feb. 2013 and brought <br />back to February 2014 quarterly public hearing). <br />• UDO text amendments related to the public hearing process. <br />• UDO text amendment to require a neighborhood information meeting prior to <br />public hearings for Special Use Permit applications. <br />Attachment 1 41
