Letter to Residents with Home Occupation <br />Permits <br /> Ashley Moncado, Planner II 245-2597 <br /> Craig Benedict, Director 245-2575 <br /> <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To review comments received at the Quarterly Public Hearing and discuss potential <br />revisions to the proposed home occupation text amendment. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: At the November 25, 2013 Quarterly Public Hearing, the Board of County <br />Commissioners and Planning Board identified concerns with the proposed home occupation text <br />amendment presented for public hearing. Recognizing that a number of items needed to be <br />reviewed and discussed among the Planning Board, staff recommended bringing the item back <br />to the Planning Board for further review and discussion. Attachment 2 contains comments <br />received from the Board of County Commissioners and Planning Board, including staff <br />comments regarding the identified concerns from the Quarterly Public Hearing. Revisions to <br />proposed standards based on comments received at the Quarterly Public Hearing have not <br />been addressed within the attached documents. <br /> <br />This item has been rescheduled for the February 18, 2014 BOCC regular meeting. The <br />additional time will provide Planning Board and staff the opportunity to review comments <br />received and address potential revisions to the proposed amendment at the December 4, 2013 <br />meeting and the January 8, 2014 meeting. <br /> <br />Attachment 1 contains information and analysis regarding this amendment. In addition, <br />Attachment 1 includes comments received from the Town of Carrboro on November 26, 2013 <br />regarding the proposed amendment. Attachment 3 includes the proposed amendments <br />presented and reviewed at the Quarterly Public Hearing. These amendments have not been <br />23
