VOTE: UNANIMOUS ************************************ <br /> <br />Agenda Item 9: Kennel Processes and Regulations: To provide BOCC-requested input into the processes <br />and regulations for kennels. <br /> Presenter: Michael Harvey, Current Planning Supervisor <br /> <br />Michael Harvey: Reviewed abstract. <br /> <br />Rachel Hawkins: Aren’t there already a couple of kennels that were already approved? <br /> <br />Michael Harvey: The kennel on Alexander Drive has been in existence since 1979. That kennel is considered to <br />be a conforming use of property. There is a kennel off New Hope that was approved four years ago by the Board of <br />Adjustment. There was a kennel off Millhouse that was recently approved. There are approximately six kennels <br />throughout the county <br /> <br />Tony Blake: What brought this up? <br /> <br />Michael Harvey: Complaints from neighbors of the New Hope Road Kennel who thought that the Board of <br />Adjustment would not give them a fair shake and the County Commissioners would deny it. They complained <br />about noise, inappropriate land use for the area, traffic, etc. I would remind the Board that no matter which Board <br />reviews a special use permit, the standards for review and approval are still the same.
