It is clear to me to have a chain link fence and parking that is required.
Nick Herman: We will go to that in just a second. This is the facility, this rectangular area, is that right?
Chad Abbott: Yes sir.
Nick Herman: Can you summarize what all this denotes?
Chad Abbott: I don’t want to speak for Mr. West but per our conversations, the chain link fence you have open
areas up front and then one in the rear. These will be allowed to release dogs from each individual, up to 30 runs
at maybe three or four at a time so they can be allowed to exercise and play within a six foot fence.
Nick Herman: You understand the initial phasing is intended to be 16 runs for 16 animals that with a potential
buildout to a maximum of 30?
Chad Abbott: Yes sir.
Nick Herman: This fence that surrounds all this is a six foot high chain link fence, is that what that is referring to?
Chad Abbott: Provided with vinyl slats for screening.
Nick Herman: What does that mean?
Chad Abbott: The chain link fence will have vinyl slats vertically running through the links to provide additional
screening, noise barrier, etc.
Nick Herman: The animals can’t look out and you can’t see them looking in.
Chad Abbott: That is the intent.
Nick Herman: Did your firm also prepare elevations and will be responsible for the design of this facility?
Chad Abbott: Yes sir.
Nick Herman: Let’s look quickly at that. There are more to these plans. This is one they have seen but there are
other views of it. Briefly explain to the members of the Board what this depicts.
Chad Abbott: You have your front entrance coming from the handicap parking space here. That is where Mr.
West will have his counter; I guess where he greets guests. As you can see these wings to the side are further
back. Looking from this view, these wings will branch out approximately at this location so they can come out of
the page. As you can see, the building materials are listed. There will be CMU walls between each kennel so the
dogs cannot see each other.
Nick Herman: Dogs or cats.
