Yes, I was sworn in. <br />Nick Herman: Mr. Stewart, where do you live? <br />Noral Stewart: I live at 5106 Cape Benson Way in Raleigh, NC. <br />Nick Herman: How are you employed? <br />Noral Stewart: I am President and Principal Consultant of Stewart Acoustical Consultants. Professional <br />consulting firm in Raleigh for over 30 years. <br />Nick Herman: What is the purpose of your consultation? <br />Noral Stewart: We provide consultation on acoustics and noise control for buildings and environmental <br />community noise issues and industrial work place noise control. <br />Nick Herman: Tell us briefly what your qualifications are and your advanced degrees. <br />Noral Stewart: I have my BS, Master’s and PhD from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, North Carolina <br />State University, specialized in acoustics and noise control. In my 30 plus years, I have also been president of the <br />National Counsel of Acoustical Consultants, an international association. I am a Fellow of the Acoustical Society <br />of America, ASBM International, the standards writing, and a member of the Institute of Noise Control <br />Engineering. <br />Nick Herman: How does one refer to your area of expertise? What is that called? <br />Noral Stewart: Acoustical Consultant. <br />Nick Herman: Have you testified as a noise consultant in the past? <br />Noral Stewart: Yes. Before many boards such as this and in the U.S. Federal Court and State courts in North and <br />South Carolina. <br />Nick Herman: Have you had the occasion in the past to testify to this board in connection with a kennel? <br />Noral Stewart: Yes I have. <br />Nick Herman: What was that case, the Gene Lonsway case? <br />Noral Stewart: Yes. Approximately a year ago. <br />Nick Herman: What were you asked to do by the applicant in this case?
