Approved 9/10/2013 <br /> <br />OC Board of Adjustment – 7/8/2013 Page 38 of 82 <br /> <br />SECTION 5.8.10 (B) GENERAL SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS – SPECIAL USE PERMITS 1 <br />("Yes" indicates compliance; "No" indicates non-compliance) 2 <br />Ordinance Requirements <br />PLANNING STAFF <br />RECOMMENDED <br />FINDINGS <br />EVIDENCE SUBMITTED <br />TO SUPPORT FINDINGS <br />BOA <br /> FINDINGS <br />5.8.10 (B) (1) (a) and (b) <br />Overall Policy and Desired <br />Goals <br /> <br />The overall policy and desired <br />goals for Special Use Permits for <br />wireless telecommunications <br />support structures shall be <br />promoting and encouraging, <br />wherever possible, the following: <br /> <br />(a) Alternatives to constructing new <br />wireless support structures, <br />including but not limited to the co- <br />location of wireless <br />telecommunications equipment and <br />mitigating the visual effect of a <br />wireless telecommunication <br />support structure to an extent not <br />commercially impracticable; and <br /> <br />(b) The placement, height and <br />quantity of wireless <br />telecommunications towers and <br />equipment in such a manner, <br />including but not limited to the use <br />of stealth technology or camouflage <br />techniques, to minimize adverse <br />aesthetic and visual impacts on the <br />land, property, buildings, and other <br />facilities adjacent to, surrounding, <br />and in generally the same area as <br />the requested location of such <br />wireless telecommunications <br />support structure, which shall mean <br />using the least visually and <br />physically intrusive facility that is <br />not technologically or commercially <br />impracticable under the facts and <br />circumstances. <br /> X Yes ___No Tab(s) 3, 14, 16, 17, 19, and <br />20 of the application booklet <br />contains the required <br />information addressing this <br />requirement. <br /> <br />There are no existing towers in <br />the area to address service <br />needs, so co-location <br />opportunities were not <br />available. <br /> <br />There are no County pre- <br />designated sites in this area <br />affording a pre- <br />screened/sanctioned location <br />for a telecommunication <br />facility. <br /> <br />The existing OWASA site <br />(refer to Map in Tab 14) would <br />not serve this area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Tab(s) 3 and 6 provides <br />sufficient information denoting <br />compliance with subsection <br />(b). <br /> _x__Yes ____No <br />3
