Approved 7/8/2013 <br />OC Board of Adjustment – 6/10/2013 Page 31 of 92 <br />SECTION 5.8.10 (B) GENERAL SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS – SPECIAL USE PERMITS 1 <br />("Yes" indicates compliance; "No" indicates non-compliance) 2 <br />Ordinance <br />Requirements <br />PLANNING <br />STAFF <br />RECOMMENDED <br />FINDINGS <br />EVIDENCE SUBMITTED <br />TO SUPPORT <br />FINDINGS <br />BOA <br /> FINDINGS <br />5.8.10 (B) (1) (a) and (b) <br />Overall Policy and Desired <br />Goals <br /> <br />The overall policy and <br />desired goals for Special Use <br />Permits for wireless <br />telecommunications support <br />structures shall be promoting <br />and encouraging, wherever <br />possible, the following: <br /> <br />(a) Alternatives to <br />constructing new wireless <br />support structures, including <br />but not limited to the co- <br />location of wireless <br />telecommunications <br />equipment and mitigating the <br />visual effect of a wireless <br />telecommunication support <br />structure to an extent not <br />commercially impracticable; <br />and <br /> <br />(b) The placement, height <br />and quantity of wireless <br />telecommunications towers <br />and equipment in such a <br />manner, including but not <br />limited to the use of stealth <br />technology or camouflage <br />techniques, to minimize <br />adverse aesthetic and visual <br />impacts on the land, <br />property, buildings, and other <br />facilities adjacent to, <br />surrounding, and in generally <br />the same area as the <br />requested location of such <br />wireless telecommunications <br />support structure, which shall <br />mean using the least visually <br />and physically intrusive <br />facility that is not <br />technologically or <br />commercially impracticable <br />under the facts and <br />circumstances. <br /> X Yes ___No Tab(s) 3, 14, 16, 17, 19, <br />and 20 of the application <br />booklet contains the <br />required information <br />addressing this <br />requirement. <br /> <br />There are no existing <br />towers in the area to <br />address service needs, <br />so co-location <br />opportunities were not <br />available. <br /> <br />There are no County pre- <br />designated sites in this <br />area affording a pre- <br />screened/sanctioned <br />location for a <br />telecommunication <br />facility. <br /> <br />The existing OWASA <br />site (refer to Map in Tab <br />14) would not serve this <br />area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Tab(s) 3 and 6 provides <br />sufficient information <br />denoting compliance with <br />subsection (b). <br /> _x_Yes ____No <br />3
