Approved 3113117

John Price: Verizon antennas?

David Haughney: Operated by Verizon, yes sir. That seems obvious.

John Price: And you are, or are you not, of the opinion that the only way to address those two
issues is to build a single cell tower?

David Haughney: No sir. That's why I'm disagreeing with you. We employ a lot of other measures
to help our UNC Campus. So it sounds to me like you're saying ...... this is the only solution for
capacity to those surrounding sites, including UNC Campus. It's not. We are employing other
solutions, in particular some of the ones you've asked about. Which are small cell dats, this is an
additional needed solution as for the testimony. This is a needed solution.

John Price: So is this cell tower not needed for capacity offload in UNC Campus?

David Haughney: No. It is absolutely needed. As testified.

John Price: In conjuntion with something else or in and of itself?

David Haughney: In conjunction with other efforts we're taking on UNC Campus and at all of our
sites to improve capacity. Yeah, absolutely.

John Price: Did you consider alternatives along Mt. Carmel Road that would address the issue of
the coverage or the coverage gap along that road?

David Haughney: We always consider alternatives when creating a search ring. We created the
search ring and that search ring is a solution for that problem.
(Unintelligible comments)
John Price: Are you aware of the fact that Mr. Yeagley who works with, according to the letter, for
the same company as you do? Chase Real Estate Services.

David Haughney: I do not work for Chase.

John Price: Ok.

David Haughney: I work for Verizon. I am a Verizon employee.

OC Board of Adjustment —12/12/16 Page 45 of 156
