It stands for radio frequency. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Laura Goode: And can you explain what your job involves? 8 <br /> 9 <br />David Haughney: I’m specifically a design engineer in the Triangle area for Verizon, it involves 10 <br />identifying new coverage and capacity including so needed where the demand is highest, where 11 <br />they would benefit us the most, and then design and work into the deploy those projects. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Laura Goode: How long have you been doing this job? 14 <br /> 15 <br />David Haughney: A very long time. In the Triangle area alone 17 years or RF Engineering and 16 <br />technical work. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Laura Goode: What other experience, training, or education do you have that prepared you for 19 <br />this job? 20 <br /> 21 <br />David Haughney: My entire career, basically. I was trained in electronics technology in high school 22 <br />and graduated high school with a full time job repairing electronic circuit boards at the component 23 <br />level. And then went on to further my training and experience in the United States Army, in military 24 <br />communications. And have worked in the wireless industry my entire career. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Laura Goode: At this time I respectfully request that this Board accept David Haughney as an 27 <br />expert in the area of radio frequency engineering and determining network objectives in the 28 <br />explore of new wireless telecommunications facilities… So we’ve talked a little bit already about 29 <br />the network objective for this site and the propegation maps. The propegation maps that were 30 <br />submitted as Exhibit 7 to the application, did you prepare those maps? 31 <br /> 32 <br />David Haughney: Yes I did. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Laura Goode: And can you explain a little bit about what those propegation maps mean? 35 <br /> 36 <br />David Haughney: The propegation maps are generated from a highly specialized tool that’s really 37 <br />only used by people with my title, in my industry, to predict how the network is performing and to 38 <br />38
