I also hold the MAI and SRA 4 <br />designations from the inaudible. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Laura Goode: Can you explain what those are? 7 <br /> 8 <br />David Smith: They’re additional requirements that you have to have. Sort of a step up from just a 9 <br />general appraiser. A sort of vocation that the state has. As a matter of fact, when they started 10 <br />licensing people in the state they just automatically gave it to people that had a MAI designation. 11 <br />You have to take a series of courses, have your experience reviewed by other appraisers, and 12 <br />you have to take something that’s called an in-depth report to show that you’re capable of being 13 <br />an appraiser. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Laura Goode: And how long have you been a certified real estate appraiser? 16 <br /> 17 <br />David Smith: Ever since they started it, I’ve been an appraiser for 35 years. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Laura Goode: How did you become involved in this particular site? 20 <br /> 21 <br />David Smith: I was contacted by Michael Hurst. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Laura Goode: Was that with Towercom? 24 <br /> 25 <br />David Smith: Yeah, I guess. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Laura Goode: What were you asked to do? 28 <br /> 29 <br />David Smith: To do an impact analysis on this tower, on the surrounding properties. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Laura Goode: Will you be paid as part the work you did for this site? 32 <br /> 33 <br />David Smith: Yes I will. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Laura Goode: Will the payment that you receive be contingent upon the opinion you give here 36 <br />tonight at this hearing? 37 <br /> 38 <br />13
