65 <br />NOTICE OF MEETING <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />OF <br />ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Pursuant to the requirements of the General Statutes of North Carolina, Chapter 153A, <br />Sections 340 and 345.1, Chapter 160A Section 388, and Section 2.11 of the Orange County <br />Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), notice is hereby given that the Board of Adjustment will <br />hold a public hearing in the 2nd flood meeting room of the Whitted Building located at 300 West <br />Tryon Street, Hillsborough, North Carolina on Monday October 12, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. for the <br />purpose taking specific action on the following item(s): <br />1. A -2 -15 — Class B Special Use Permit application proposing the development <br />of a retreat center on an approximately 22 acre parcel of property off of <br />Morrow Mill Road (PIN 9729 -50- 7168): <br />In accordance with Section(s) 2.7 Special Uses, 5.2.1 Table of Permitted Uses, <br />5.3.2 Application of Use Standards — Special Uses, and 5.7.4 Standards for <br />Camp /Retreat Centers of the LIDO Ms. and Mr. Kara and Chris Brewer have <br />submitted a Class B Special Use Permit application seeking a permit to develop a <br />retreat center, on an approximately 22 acre parcel of property further identified <br />utilizing Orange County Parcel Identification Number (PIN) 9729 -50 -7168. <br />The parcel, currently listed as being owned by Southeast Property Group LLC, is <br />zoned Agricultural Residential (AR) and has frontage along both Morrow Mill Road <br />(SR 1958) and Millikan Road (SR 1959). There is no physical street address <br />currently assigned to this parcel (hereafter'the property'). <br />As detailed within the application the applicant wishes to develop a retreat center, <br />called The Barn of Chapel Hill, allowing for the holding of weddings, corporate <br />retreats, and other similar special events within a 4200 square foot historic barn <br />proposed to be relocated onto the property. Development of the property will also <br />include 150 parking spaces to accommodate event attendees, outdoor parking lot <br />lighting, and landscaping. This is a quasi - judicial hearing <br />requiring a fair trial standard including accepting only competent, material, and substantial <br />evidence presented by parties with standing. Following the close of the public hearing, only <br />evidence presented at the public hearing will be examined by the Board of Adjustment for <br />decision. <br />Changes may be made in the advertised proposal, which reflect debate, objections, and <br />discussion at the hearing. <br />Questions regarding the proposal may be directed to the Orange County Planning and <br />Inspections Department located on the second floor of the West Campus Office building at 131 <br />West Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, North Carolina, 27278.
