DRAFT -1- <br />MINUTES <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />MAY 14, 2012 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Dawn Brezina, Full Member (Acting Chair) <br />David Blankfard, Alternate Member <br />James Carter, Full Member <br />Mark Micol, Alternate Member <br />Larry Wright, Full Member, Planning Board Liaison <br />STAFF PRESENT: Michael Harvey, Current Planning Supervisor <br />Debra Graham, Board Secretary <br />Sahana Ayer, Staff Attorney <br />AGENDA ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL <br />AGENDA ITEM 2: CONSIDERATION OF ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />Dawn Brezina: Our regular Chairman, Mr. Brown, has resigned from this committee as <br />Chairman and we need to determine another person to take that position. After some <br />discussion, Larry Wright said that he could do that. Would anyone else want to take that <br />position? Any discussion on any other nominations. <br />MOTION made by Mark Micol to nominate Larry Wright as Chairman. Seconded by James <br />Carter. <br />VOTE: Unanimous <br />Dawn Brezina: Can we amend that nomination to say he will start next month? <br />AGENDA ITEM 3: APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />A. JANUARY 9, 2012 <br />Michael Harvey: Dr. Wright had asked staff to secure from the attorney's office, an opinion on <br />the minutes, the review and approval electronically, etc. I forgot to ask Mr. Roberts if he had <br />finished his memorandum which is why you don't have it tonight. We have been told it will be <br />complete in the next week and we will get that to you in advance of the next meeting so you <br />have an answer. <br />MOTION made by Larry Wright to approve the January 9, 2012 minutes. Seconded by James <br />Carter. <br />VOTE: Unanimous <br />AGENDA ITEM 4: PUBLIC CHARGE <br />The Board of Adjustment pledges to the citizens of Orange County its respect. The Board <br />asks its citizens to conduct themselves in a respectful, courteous manner, both with the Board <br />and with fellow citizens. At any time should any member of the Board or any citizen fail to <br />observe this public charge, the Chair will ask the offending person to leave the meeting until <br />that individual regains personal control. Should decorum fail to be restored, the Chair will <br />recess the meeting until such time that a genuine commitment to this public charge is <br />observed.
