In a letter, dated April 9, 2010, Orange County Planning staff informed UNC representatives <br />a Class A Special Use Permit would be required to allow for a proposed expansion of the <br />existing research facility due to the size of the septic system. This determination was later <br />reversed as detailed in a letter dated November 16, 2010 where staff made a finding the <br />Special Use Permit was not required. <br />The applicant is appealing the determination that the aforementioned Special Use Permit is <br />not required. <br />6.
